For an FPSO project off the coast of Senegal and Mauritania SEW Energy supplied three independent process packages. The FPSO, over 400 meters long, will be used as the initial production facility for a large gas discovery in West Africa. SEW Energy was involved in this project through an existing relationship with the subcontractor.
The challenge
Within a single offshore development project, multiple, technically diverse systems had to be delivered, each with its own functional requirements and interfaces. The packages had to be suitable for long-term offshore deployment and comply with applicable offshore regulations.
The approach
SEW Energy completed three separate projects. The Instrument Air Receiver was a pressure vessel approximately five meters high and 3.5 meters in diameter for onboard air buffering. SEW Energy also supplied a Diesel Oil Purifier Package, designed to remove solid particles and water from diesel fuel to ensure it meets the required specifications.
The third package was a Slop Polishing Package for the treatment of collected rainwater and wash water, where oil and solids are separated using centrifuge technology before the water is discharged.
The result
The three packages were delivered according to specifications and reliably support the operational processes on the FPSO. Their modular and self-contained design allowed for efficient integration of the systems within the larger offshore project.
