At the family day at HSM in Schiedam, both the employees of ONE-Dyas and HSM as well as the employees and family of SEW Energy had the opportunity to N05 platform SEW Energy BV, in collaboration with Multimetaal from Den Helder, manufactured and installed most of the piping on the platform. During a tour of the island, the various technical and living areas were on display. It was quite an experience, as it's not often that a family gets the chance to see a platform where their family member is working.
The N05-A gas field is located 20 kilometers north of Schiermonnikoog. The platform is designed to develop this field, and in the future also nearby fields, and to contribute substantially to the security of gas supply for the Netherlands. The N05-A platform runs entirely on offshore wind energy from the German Riffgat wind farm, resulting in virtually zero emissions. The platform is also suitable for the future production of green hydrogen and/or for CO2 storage.
The topside consists of three decks and a helipad. It measures 60*30*25 meters and weighs 2,800 tons.
