As a Welder / Shop Welder at SEW Energy, you will work from our workshop in Broek op Langedijk and at Onshore and Offshore locations on high-quality welding work for various projects. You will perform work on piping and steel structures, in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
In addition to work in the workshop, you will be deployed to our clients' project locations. For specific assignments or projects, this means performing work at onshore or offshore locations.
You work in an environment where quality, safety, and craftsmanship are central, and where colleagues collaborate on technical projects within both existing and new energy markets.
Your duties include, among other things:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding procedures
- Checking fit-ups prior to welding
- Working with various types of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex
- Performing welding work according to WPS at customer locations and in the workshop
- Performing various welding processes in position and with a Welding Manipulator
- Assist with assembly and fitting work when necessary
- Marking welds for traceability
What does your workday look like?
You start your workday with a meeting with your foreman to discuss the day's tasks and project. You receive targeted guidance based on the project and your welding certifications. Within the team of Welders and Fitters, welding priorities are coordinated to ensure clarity on which tasks are performed first.
You perform various welding activities where quality and development are central. Through the inspection and assessment of your welds, including X-ray examination, you gain insight into the quality of your work and continuously develop yourself within the profession.
Depending on your knowledge and skills, you will work alternately within the carbon, stainless, and duplex work areas. You will be involved in diverse activities on piping and structures, involving various material types, grades, and diameters. This ensures variety and a broad scope of work within SEW's projects.
